The undergraduate economics course seeks to prepare students to face dynamic social situations that involve the complexities and typical problems of a global economic reality and with interfaces in multiple fields of knowledge and that are capable of proposing actions and policies not only consistent with the reality but technically grounded and socially responsible, being able to execute them both with the public sectors, as well as at a private or business level.

The curriculum of the Science course combines the theoretical and current rigor of economic knowledge with the need for flexibility regarding the introduction of innovations. The economic diversity present in modern societies requires a unique ability to understand social needs and desires, clearly demanding a critical social conscience when the economist reflects on the solution of problems of this nature. Capacity for dialogue with other areas of knowledge, preparation for the formulation of action and negotiation strategies and the possibility of optimal solutions to economic problems interrelated to related areas are also objectives of the course. clearly demanding a critical social conscience when the economist reflects on the solution of problems of this nature.
