The program offers students of master’s and doctoral courses extensive training in teaching and research in different areas of knowledge in toxicology. The program’s interdisciplinarity is based on the excellent and highly diversified scientific training of its researchers.

The Graduate Program in Toxicology aims to:

  • training of human resources specialized in the study of the adverse effects of chemical substances on living organisms;
  • promote the training of personnel for teaching and research in Toxicology and related areas with the capacity to work in public or private educational institutions;
  • train and/or improve human resources able to work in the solution of problems and decision-making related to the safe use of chemical substances, exercising leadership activities both in regulatory bodies and agencies and in various segments of the national industry;
  • strengthen Toxicology in the country, with the formation of leaders in the area who will disseminate knowledge in the country and abroad, in addition to nurturing strong groups in the area.

To achieve these goals, the graduate student will specialize in one of its three main areas: Experimental, Clinical, and Analytical, which constitute the three main lines of our PPG and meet the three essential purposes of Toxicology: Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Poisoning.
