The Graduate Program in Phytopathology (PPG Phytopathology) is headquartered in the Department of Phytopathology and Nematology and is one of the founders of the Graduate Program at ESALQ, having completed 50 years in 2014. The PPG achieved a level of excellence according to the CAPES assessment and is compared to the best international programs in the field of phytopathology.

The teaching staff is highly qualified in teaching and research in Phytopathology and all teachers have part of their training abroad.

The PPG provides an environment of academic excellence for training trained professionals in plant pathology, prepared to face the health challenges of agriculture, whether in the public or private sectors. To fulfill this mission, the PPG has four basic lines of action:

  • Transmit fundamental and current knowledge in Phytopathology and facilitate contacts with various sectors of the labor market, providing students with practical experience that allows them to assess the social importance of their activity.
  • Maintain the excellence, multidisciplinarity and internationalization of the faculty.
  • Stimulate the international student experience as much as possible.
  • Provide the best quality infrastructure for teaching and research.
