General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or other undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Minimum average:

  • Bishop: 75%
  • Concordia University: 3.0/4.3
  • Higher Technology School: 3.0/4.3
  • HEC Montreal: 3.0/4.3
  • McGill University: 3.0/4.0
  • Polytechnique Montréal: 2.75/4.0
  • University of Sherbrooke: 3.0/4.3
  • Laval University: 3.0/4.3
  • Universities of Quebec: 3.2/4.3
Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student in the master's program in kinesiology, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a bachelor's degree in kinesiology or a diploma deemed equivalent. The candidate with a degree in physical education, physiotherapy, nutrition, public health or other health sciences discipline must successfully complete a preparatory course comprising 15 to 30 basic course credits. If applicable, the propaedeutic is determined by the graduate studies committee of the School of Kinesiology and Physical Activity Sciences during the evaluation of the file.
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent) or the average required by the original university for admission to a 2nd cycle program, if this -this is higher.
The candidate must have a good knowledge of French and written English (reading ability). On request, the School may require proof of knowledge of French in the form of successful completion of a French as a foreign language test. The admissions committee may request an interview.
