Become a dietitian-nutritionist able to provide care and services based on expertise in food and human nutrition. At the end of your training, you will be able to prevent and manage disease, as well as promote and protect health, thanks to your expanded knowledge of human health and population health, from the study of gene even that of society.

Nutrition is a fascinating and complex science that draws from the disciplines of health sciences (anatomy, physiology, etc.), basic sciences (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) and social sciences (communication, psychology, sociology, etc.).

We can thus distinguish various fields of study:

  • Fundamental nutrition focuses on all the processes surrounding the use of nutrients (vitamins and proteins) by the human body.
  • Clinical nutrition addresses the entire process of nutritional care, from nutritional assessment to the individualized nutritional treatment plan and its monitoring, all on a continuum ranging from prevention to treatment of diseases.
  • Nutrition in public health focuses on the nutritional health of populations and on intervention strategies aimed at promoting healthy eating and reducing health inequalities.
  • Food science addresses the distinctive characteristics of foods, food chemistry, food processing, labeling and regulation.
  • Management of food services for communities (from the definition of food supply to the financial control of associated resources).
  • Research is the rigorous scientific approach applied to nutrition, including ethical considerations, analysis of scientific literature, and the use of evidence to carry out nutrition interventions.
