Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular Ph.D. student (biomedical engineering), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XX) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • demonstrate good knowledge of the French and English languages.

When registering for the program, students who have not completed their previous studies in French must demonstrate, through a certification recognized by the University of Montreal, skills in French - the minimum level required is level A1 of the grid established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). If this proof is not provided, the student must successfully complete a 3-credit French second language course of equivalent level (A1) offered at the University of Montreal.

  • hold an M. Sc. (biomedical engineering) or in an appropriate discipline, or a diploma or training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3

1.2 Eligibility conditions - Direct access to the Ph.D.

  • hold a bachelor's degree in science, applied science or engineering, relevant to the desired area of ​​specialization or a doctorate in medicine (MD), veterinary medicine (DMV) or dentistry (DMD).

The dean cannot ensure admission to all eligible applicants.
