Acquire knowledge relevant to a sector of specialization in the field of theology, while delving into a current research problem. How can we understand the internal rationality of Christianity (its believing self-understanding)? How does the believing experience view the major issues of our time, such as the climate crisis, equality and justice? This course introduces you to methodological work that meets the requirements of graduate studies .

The theology done at the University of Montreal mainly revisits the founding texts, classic statements and practices of Christianity to develop, in the context and according to current challenges, propositions on God, on the world and on the human being who can give meaning to existence and guide action.

The theological approach is part of a long tradition of spiritual experiences and religious research. This discipline contributes to renewing these experiences and their expression in a creative way, in dialogue with other fields of knowledge and research which also explore religion in contemporary culture.
