The doctoral program in physical activity sciences aims to train independent researchers in physical activity sciences in the fields of movement analysis and biomechanics, movement neuroscience and physical activity, exercise physiology, physical activity promotion and sports psychology. You will need to be the driving force behind your projects, develop your scientific network and make an original contribution to your field of research. You will need to develop in-depth knowledge related to specific areas and linked to your project by taking a critical look and a spirit of synthesis. Drawing on your knowledge and skills, you will develop your own research questions. You will be able to clearly communicate and defend the objectives, assumptions and results of your projects in an audience-friendly style. You will need to ensure that you respect ethical standards and demonstrate integrity in your research work. Finally, you will need to clarify your career plan and deploy appropriate strategies as a researcher or highly qualified personnel.

In a context where physical activity is increasingly emphasized in our aging and sedentary society, it is necessary to train highly qualified personnel with expertise in:

  • Evaluation of the mechanisms involved in the beneficial effects of physical activity in order to support clinical, academic or social interventions
  • The development of new intervention methods, particularly for symptomatic and athletic populations
  • Technological innovations
  • Evaluation of the implementation of technological interventions and innovations
