Second component of the occupational therapy training continuum, the professional master's degree offers high-level training in all areas of practice with 3 clienteles served in occupational therapy and presenting physical or mental health problems: children, adults and the elderly. Offering a regular or international path focused on global health, this integrated training program allows you to deepen and integrate the knowledge acquired in the baccalaureate, while continuing to develop attitudes and skills related to the demands of practice and current and future professional responsibilities.

The program aims for self-criticism, the acquisition of greater professional autonomy and self-training. Thus, teaching methods, such as seminars, case histories, problem-based learning, are favored. The use of new computer technologies allowing flexibility adapted to the professional obligations of student clinicians is put forward.

General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or other undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Candidate holding a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy automatically admitted.

The holder of a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy awarded by the University of Montreal is, under certain conditions, automatically admitted to the master's degree in occupational therapy in the baccalaureate-master's degree continuum in occupational therapy.

To be automatically admitted as a regular student to the Master's degree in occupational therapy, the holder of the bachelor's degree in occupational therapy must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • have obtained a baccalaureate average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3
  • have submitted their choice of course for the fall term following successful completion of the baccalaureate or have been authorized by the dean or the competent authority to defer their registration to the following year.
