The department of dairy and Poultry Science has started its journey since 2001, branching into two major disciplines; Dairy science and Poultry science with the objectives of teaching, research and extension services. Both of the subjects focus on management, nutrition, genetics and breeding of different types of dairy and poultry genetics resources; and production of various dairy and poultry products in undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Invention of need based cutting edge research and technologies to increase dairy and poultry production, as well as to ensure products safeties are also inevitable responsibility of the department. This department is also covering the extension activities through providing technical service, training and consultation facilities to the stake holders and farmers.
