The department of Fisheries Biology and Genetics was established in 2005 with a view to provide knowledge about fundamental and advanced courses on Fisheries biology and genetics to fulfil the criteria of undergraduate degree naming ‘B. Sc. Fisheries (Hons.)’.The department consists of 6 faculty members two of them are Professors, three Associate Professors, one Lecturer. Faculty research areas include fisheries biology, reproductive biology, systematic and bio metrics, fisheries biodiversity, fish and fisheries micro bio-me, fisheries genetics etc.
