General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or another undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

  • HEC Montreal: 3.0/4.3

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student for the Master of Education, Orthopedagogy option, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a bachelor's degree in preschool-primary education or special education and a Quebec teaching certificate. Candidates who hold a teaching diploma in another discipline and Canadian candidates (outside Quebec) with a teaching certificate will be considered, but may have to take preparatory or complementary courses whose number of credits may vary between 3 and 24 undergraduate credits. These courses are offered during the day only.
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent or the average required by the original university for admission to a 2nd cycle program, if this this is higher. Teaching experience, if equivalent to at least five years, could be taken into account for admission purposes if a student has obtained an average grade between 2.7 and 2.99. The candidate must have a good knowledge of written English (reading ability).

The dean is not required to admit all applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.
