To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.3 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Degree accepted: Masters, Masters; duration: 2 years

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular doctoral student in art history, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.5 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
It must also meet the conditions specific to the chosen option.

Art history and theory option

  • hold a master's degree in art history or demonstrate training deemed equivalent.
Museology option

  • hold a master's degree in art history or museology or provide evidence of training considered equivalent.
Research-creation option

  • hold a master's degree in art history or visual arts, a diploma adequately preparing for the studies they wish to undertake or proof of training deemed equivalent.
