To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.3 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular doctoral student in cinema studies, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a master's degree in cinema or cinema studies, a diploma adequately preparing for the studies they wish to undertake or proof of training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.5 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
The candidate must have a good knowledge of spoken and written French as well as English and any other language deemed necessary for the pursuit of their research. The admissions committee may request an interview.
