This cycle of studies aims to specialize the master's student in criminal legal sciences, through the now more in-depth study of some of the most relevant issues in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law. These two curricular units, together with Criminal Constitutional Theory, are essential to achieving the objective we have just announced and, at the same time, are, so to speak, the foundations of the master's degree, and are therefore compulsory curricular units in the first semester. To these three curricular units is added an optional curricular unit, which at the moment is European Sanctions Law or Human Rights Law, thus giving the master's student the option of choosing one of these two. In the second semester, training in criminal law continues, extending to the study of specific subjects in other criminal law, such as international criminal law, and other sanctions law, which is becoming increasingly important, such as administrative offenses law. The Punitive System also gains prominence in this course, as it leads to the study of problematic issues with which graduates may not yet have had contact. And finally, in order to support students in their research tasks, they are given the appropriate tools to do so through the Legal Research and Methodology course.
