The main objective of the Documentary Filmmaking Course is to promote research and criticism into the practices, methodologies and epistemological and aesthetic bases of documentary film creation and production. Complementary objectives include - the promotion of research into documentary cinema at national and European level; - the promotion of media literacy studies and practices around the analysis, study and production of documentary cinema; - the integration of the study of documentary cinema into the Lusófona University's second cycle training program in cinema and media; - the strengthening of Lusófona University's training and research capacity in the areas of cinema and audiovisual; - the promotion of reflection and criticism around documentary cinema; - the promotion of European and international integration of research and creative practice around documentary cinema through the potential that derives from the accreditation of this course as an Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree.
