The Master provides the student with extensive knowledge of contemporary Bioethics science, which can be grouped into three areas:
1. - Fundamental or general bioethics: The historical, philosophical, anthropological and ethical bases on which Bioethics is based, studying the human being in an integral way, as well as the various currents and models of argumentation and discussion in Bioethics. Subjects such as ANTHROPOLOGY, ETHICS OR FUNDAMENTALS OF BIOETHICS are framed in this area.
2. - Special or applied bioethics: We study in depth, from the different perspectives, and offer the scientific knowledge and essential analysis keys to address the most relevant issues of the current bioethical discussion, both the bioethical problems related to the beginning of human life. (Statute of prenatal human life, assisted reproduction techniques, research with embryos, stem cells, genome editing, etc. ); such as those related to the end of human life (Determination of death; Organ transplantation, Limitation of therapeutic effort, Euthanasia, Living will, Palliative care, etc. ), passing through those that arise in the so-called clinical Bioethics (Relationship doctor-patient, patient rights, informed consent, bioethics committees, bioethics of STDs, of mental illness, etc. ). We also address training related to legal issues related to Bioethics and environmental bioethics. This area includes subjects such as BIOETHICS and BEGINNING OF LIFE; BIOETHICS AND END OF LIFE; CLINICAL BIOETHICS, BIOETHICS and LAW; BIOETHICS and ENVIRONMENT.  
3. - Research in Bioethics: The Master also teaches research in Bioethics, offering knowledge of Research Methodology, and the proper management of resources, sources and specific skills for research in bioethical science. According to the preferential interests of the student, a personal tutor guides him in his research in one of the following Research Lines: RESEARCH LINE IN BIOETHICS AND HUMANITIES; RESEARCH LINE IN BIOETHICS AND HEALTH SCIENCES; RESEARCH LINE IN BIOETHICS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Students who have possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that empowers in the country issuing the degree for access to Master's degrees. Bioethics is a multidisciplinary science. Although the undergraduate degree in the area of ​​Humanities or Health Sciences is recommended, other degrees such as Economics and Business, Engineering that make up human knowledge are not excluded.

PostgraduateTo study at postgraduate level, you must have either a degree obtained from a Spanish university or an equivalent qualification. Applicants from within the European Higher Education Area must present the following documents:

  • Passport or equivalent identity document
  • Official academic certificate
  • University degree

Applicants from outside of the European Higher Education Area must also provide a certificate proving their previous studies qualify them for postgraduate study in their own country. This should be provided by the university you originally studied at.
