The Environmental Engineer will acquire the appropriate training for the prevention of environmental damage, seeking the protection of the environment or even the improvement of environmental quality, in the face of problems inherent to the increase in quality of life or demographic pressure such as the generation of waste or the water, air and soil contamination, modifying production processes for better use of natural resources. Students must have adequate training to design, project and operate facilities that allow the minimization of the effect of emissions generated in these processes. For this, a knowledge of the scientific bases of the environment, a global knowledge of the problems of pollution and environmental quality and, specifically, the management and application of tools and treatment technologies available to face the various situations that may arise is essential. In addition, he must have a good knowledge of the products and their industrial processes to propose alternatives that avoid the generation of contamination, through the development of clean technologies that involve process modifications, also including recycling and reuse lines.
