The training program has a first part of basic content where the student acquires the fundamental knowledge of the degree and that will serve as a basis for acquiring the skills of more advanced subjects in the training itinerary. Approximately during the first and second years, most of the basic subjects are taught such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Graphic Expression, Statistics and Business, these subjects being common to the majority of Engineering Degrees taught at Rey Juan University Carlos. These basic knowledge can be summarized in the following points: Ability to understand and apply the mathematical, physical and chemical foundations of engineering; Basic knowledge of programming and graphic representation systems; Knowledge of the business concept: organization and management; Once these basic knowledge has been achieved, the student is prepared to acquire the most specific contents of the branch of Engineering. It is at this time that the study of specific subjects of Engineering as a branch of knowledge begins, such as Mechanical Engineering, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies, Electrical Technology and Electronics, Environmental Technology, Projects and Industrial Organization. These subjects provide a general training in Engineering which provides that versatile character to the Mechanical Engineer. This knowledge can be summarized in the following points: Basic principles of thermodynamics and heat transmission; Basic principles of fluid mechanics and mechanics of continuous media and materials; Knowledge of the principles of electricity, electronics and automation control; Theory of machines and manufacturing processes; Environmental science and technology; Project organization and management; Finally, the training of the mechanical engineer is completed with the intensification in the specific areas of Mechanical Engineering such as Manufacturing Process Engineering, Machine Theory, Hydraulic Machines and Thermal Engines, Structural Theory, Mechanical Design and Simulation, among others. The specific training is completed with the completion of the End of Degree project. This knowledge can be summarized in the following points: Capacities for the calculation, design of machines and fluid-mechanical systems; Thermal engineering. Thermal motors; Mechanics of the behavior of real solids; Calculation and design of industrial structures and constructions; Materials engineering; Another educational objective is that these graduates acquire a series of ethical, professional and personal competencies that allow them to achieve a comprehensive training. For this, a series of subjects distributed throughout the training cycle have been established that guarantee the transversal training of graduates.
