Statistics is the collection and interpretation of data. On this program, students will learn to develop tools to predict behaviour and actions across a variety of sectors including government, business, science and academia. The first year of the study will consist of lessons in introductory mathematics courses in calculus as well as two introductory courses in probability and statistics. In the upper years, students will build upon this foundation with courses in probability analysis, design and sample surveying. Students may declare their major or minor in statistics at the end of their second year.
