Philosophy investigates many of the big questions of life: what is a human being? Are there such things as justice, beauty or God? What counts as knowledge? The UNB Philosophy program encourages students to complicate and clarify their thought through close and critical reading of great thinkers, engaged discussion in seminar settings, and challenging writing opportunities through sustained writing-‐ mentoring. This provides a robust preparation for graduate study in philosophy and a superb foundation for other fields such as law, journalism, government, publishing, health professions, environmental policy, and business.
