UNB’s English program at Saint John’s campus will expose students to literature that will deepen their understanding of different cultures and different people. It will refine one’s writing, oral communication, and critical thinking skills, show how language is vital to people’s daily lives, and deepen one’s appreciation of beauty. Students will study poetry, drama, films, and fiction that anchor their collective imaginations. This program offers students with the opportunities to teach Shakespearean plays at local schools, as part of the Shakespeare and Pedagogy course. Coursework in this program involves hands-on experience with live theatre and students will have opportunities to publish poetry in the VOX, the student creative writing journal.
