About the nature of the B.Sc. in Statistics program:
The program offers two plans, one for studying a bachelor's degree in statistics, and the second for studying a diploma in statistics. Program Objectives:
After the student studies this program, we expect the following:
1. This program enables students to understand different statistical methods: such as the principles of statistics, methods of samples and mathematical models and their analysis, the design and analysis of statistical experiments, reliability studies and evaluations, decision-making methods, and others. 2. The program provides the student with important information about statistical theory: such as probability theory, statistical distributions, parametric and non-parametric test methods, stochastic processes, information theory and its applications, etc. 3. The program provides a good space to train students on various ready-made software (Minitab, SPSS, SAS) and how to use them efficiently in analyzing the data of various economic, industrial, agricultural and health sectors. 4. The program achieves good training for students on how to extrapolate useful information and indicators from data analysis, and develop the necessary recommendations for decision-makers to make appropriate and correct decisions based on that information deduced. Possible functions of the program: The statistics program provides the graduate with excellent job opportunities: as a statistical researcher, as a quality controller, as a controller of the evolution of commodity prices, as an analyst of quantitative systems and data in all research departments available in various government establishments and companies, as well as as a statistical analyst or quality controller in various companies and industrial laboratories. There is also another set of jobs: as a sample designer, sample surveyor , family life planner, or experiment designer for the various national economic departments covering all parts of the Sultanate.

The statistics program provides the graduate with excellent job opportunities: as a statistical researcher, as a quality controller, as a controller of the evolution of commodity prices, as a systems analyst and quantitative data in all research departments available in various government establishments and companies, as well as as a statistical analyst or quality controller in various companies and industrial laboratories. There is also another set of functions: As a sample designer, sample surveyor, family life planner, or experiment designer of various national economic departments covering all parts of the Sultanate.

Tuition fees for science subjects are OMR 107 per Credit Hour ($280 per credit/hr and for art subjects are OMR 85 per Credit Hour ($220 per credit/hr). A minimum score of 65% in secondary level certification is required for undergraduate courses.
