M.A in Psychological Guidance and Counseling

About the nature of the program:
The program aims to prepare specialized and highly qualified national leaders and competencies and other following objectives:
1. To provide psychological counseling services, in the institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Social Development, in addition to other institutions working in the field of training and human development, whether governmental or private. 2. Qualifying students in the graduate program and opening the way for them after graduation to complete their studies in doctoral programs in the educational and psychological fields, in order to meet the need for academics with higher qualifications to work and teach in Omani and Gulf colleges and universities, where relying on non-Omani competencies is a high economic cost. 3. Facing many of the challenges of the Omani and Gulf society, in the educational, social and psychological fields, through studies and research that students will conduct in scientific theses, which students will submit as one of the requirements for obtaining a master's degree in this specialty. 4. It will contribute to the development of awareness of the importance of psychological counseling and the formation of positive attitudes towards it; as it is among the most important services necessary to help the individual understand himself, develop his personality, plan for his future, solve his problems, and thus achieve a better level of mental health, 5. Preparing qualified researchers in the field of student services and mental health. 6. Encouraging professional growth programs in the educational and psychological fields. 7. Providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills and conducting targeted research and workshops.

Teaching in departments and colleges of education in public and private colleges and universities. 4. Vocational guidance in schools after basic education. 5. Training and vocational rehabilitation in the Ministry of Manpower. 6. Juvenile delinquents care and rehabilitation homes affiliated to the Ministry of Social Development. 7. Correctional centers (prisons) of the Public Security Directorate. 8. Anti-Narcotics Department of the Public Security Directorate. 9. Orphanages, government and private seniors. 10. Private counseling centers. 11. Private training and human development centers. 12.
