About the nature of the B.Sc. in Biotechnology program:
  • The Bachelor's program in Biotechnology aims to provide students with the basic concepts and cognitive aspects of cell biology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, biomolecules, and microorganisms. The program also aims to provide students with the professional and vocational skills necessary to work in research laboratories and commercial and investment business sectors interested in the field of biotechnology. The program also works to increase the student's ability to understand, analyze, and evaluate problems in biotechnology and find scientific and practical solutions to them using appropriate biotechnology methods.
  • The Bachelor's program in Biotechnology includes courses in the basic branches of biotechnology, biochemistry, microorganisms, molecular genetics, and genetic engineering.
  • The program graduate must successfully complete the study of at least 137 credit hours, including 60 credit hours as mandatory specialization requirements, and 26 credit hours as elective specialization requirements.
  • The Biotechnology Diploma Program aims to provide students with the basic concepts of cell biology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, biomolecules, and microorganisms. The program also aims to provide students with the laboratory skills necessary to work in research laboratories and commercial and investment business sectors interested in the field of biotechnology. The program also works to provide students with the ability to identify problems in biotechnology and find scientific and practical solutions to them using appropriate biotechnology methods. The Biotechnology Diploma Program includes courses in the basic branches of biotechnology, biochemistry, microorganisms, genetics, and biomolecules.

Tuition fees for science subjects are OMR 107 per Credit Hour ($280 per credit/hr and for art subjects are OMR 85 per Credit Hour ($220 per credit/hr). A minimum score of 65% in secondary level certification is required for undergraduate courses.
