Bachelor of Chemistry: 136 credit hours are required to successfully complete the bachelor's degree. Students can choose physics, computer science and mathematics, or statistics as minors. The basic concepts of chemistry are taught in core courses that cover the main branches of chemistry such as: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Chemistry courses are taught for 55 credit hours (departmental requirement) and 30 credit hours (elective requirement). The student is required to successfully complete a research project during one semester to obtain the bachelor's degree in chemistry. After completing the bachelor's program, students can explain the cognitive facts comprehensively in the four main branches of chemistry and be able to understand relationships, interpret scientific facts and data, and analyze and solve problems.
Diploma in Chemistry: A 73-credit hour program offered by the Department of Biological Sciences and Chemistry, which provides students with a minimum background in chemistry that enables them to raise their level of competence in working in chemistry laboratories as technicians and faculty assistants. They also have the opportunity to pursue their studies in a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Upon completion of the Diploma programme students will be able to demonstrate scientific facts, concepts, scientific methods and techniques (qualitative and quantitative) from the context of chemical sciences.
