The Master 's in Language Sciences - Campus Grands Moulins - Computational Linguistics ( LI) course is a multidisciplinary course combining linguistics, mathematics and computer science. Classes are taught at the UFR of linguistics and the UFR of computer science on the Grand Moulins campus. Computational linguistics ( or automatic language processing ( TAL)) falls under artificial intelligence and refers to the design of computer programs dealing with all aspects of human language, from speech recognition to the analysis of the meaning of a text. Its famous applications are for example machine translation, information retrieval, text generation, chatbots. Natural language processing algorithms can also be used in computational linguistics, with the aim of increasing our knowledge of languages.
