KNU named after J.Balasagyn is implementing fallowing directions of Bachelors 510100 "Mathematics":

- training of qualified specialists capable of versatile professional activity in the field of fundamental mathematics, applied and experimental research, experimental design work, mathematical modeling, development of effective methods of solving problems of natural science, technology, economics and management, teaching mathematics by developing students' personal qualities and the formation of universal and professional competencies that contribute to its social mobility and sustainability in the labor market.   As well as the formation of students' social and personal qualities: determination to positive changes, self-organization, hard work, taking responsibility, communication skills, tolerance, improvement of general culture, etc.

The field of professional activity of graduates is to obtain fundamental, specialized and advanced training in the field of creation and use in research activities in areas using mathematical methods and computer technologies; solving various problems using mathematical modeling of processes and objects and software; development of effective methods for solving problems of natural science, engineering, economics and management; software and information support of scientific, research and development activities in the field of mathematical methods and computer technologies.

  The objects of professional activity of graduates are concepts, hypotheses, theorems, methods and mathematical models that constitute the content of fundamental and applied mathematics, mechanics and other natural sciences.

Types of professional activities of graduates:

  • research and development;
  • production-technological;
  • organizational and management;
  • teaching (in accordance with the established procedure).

  Bachelor's degree students of 510100 "Mathematics» should be able to solve the following tasks:

 1. In research and development and research and survey activities:

  • application of basic concepts, ideas and methods of fundamental mathematical disciplines to solve basic problems;
  • solving skill-appropriate mathematical problems arising in scientific and applied research;

  • preparation of reviews, annotations, abstracts and bibliography on the subject of the research being conducted;
  • participation in seminars, conferences and symposiums, design and preparation of publications based on the results of research work;

2. In manufacturing and technology activities:

  • use of mathematical methods of processing information obtained as a result of experimental research or production activities;
  • application of numerical methods for solving basic mathematical problems and classical problems of natural science in practical activities;
  • data collection and processing using modern methods of information analysis and computer technology;

3. In organizational and management activities:

  • application of mathematical methods of economics, actuarial-financial analysis and information protection;
  • creation of effective systems for introducing the results of research and development work into practice;
  • application of methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics for decision- making under conditions of uncertainty and use of the obtained knowledge for development of life strategy and solution of organizational tasks;
  • application of the acquired knowledge and skills to organize and plan their professional activities, as well as to work in various teams.

4. In the fields of teaching:

  • teaching of mathematical, physical and mathematical disciplines and informatics in general education and secondary specialized educational institutions with specialized retraining;
  • participate in the development of various testing methods to assess student learning.
