The masters mention STAPS APAS allow students to be trained in scientific, technical and organizational expertise in the fields of adapted physical activities and health.
The objectives of the STAPS APAS masters are to train students in the adaptation of physical and sporting activity to a particular public (motor, sensory, mental disabilities, mental disorders, chronic pathologies, cancer, the elderly) and/or to use all physical and/or sporting activities for the purposes of prevention, rehabilitation (or rehabilitation), post-rehabilitation, re-education, education and/or social integration with people with disabilities and /or aging.

The spectacular lengthening of lifespan and the concern for maintaining its quality have opened up many areas of reflection and intervention in the economic, social and medical fields. The constraints, sometimes severe, linked to the urban environment and transport have become omnipresent. On the fringes of the medical field, the prevention of addiction is a major issue today.

This professional Master's is rooted in a conviction: the prevention of dependency begins with the preservation of people's mobility. The use of appropriate physical and cognitive activities, the development of space and living conditions thanks to new technologies are all tools to be implemented to achieve this objective. There are also so many professional fields that will open up widely. A stated ambition: “ prevent, preserve and compensate ”.

The VHMA Professional Master's is offered by the UFR STAPS of the Universities of Paris and Paris-Saclay. It represents a course of the mention STAPS: Adapted Physical Activity and Health (APA-S). This master can be done alternately / apprenticeship in M2 since 2011.
