The Doctoral program in "Social Sciences", subfield "Social Work" aims:

 -to prepare independent researchers in basic and applied research, as a requirement to ensure a successful career in academic institutions and policy-making institutions at the local and central level;
-to provide an interdisciplinary perspective in social work and welfare that embodies knowledge from the social sciences by deepening and enriching the theoretical and practical knowledge of doctoral students in social work and key related subfields;
-to provide leadership skills in scientific research, for the dissemination of knowledge in work and social policy, through teaching at the university level, to promote social change;
-to undertake and provide special training of doctoral students in research methods and techniques related to the development of the approved dissertation topic;
-to enable doctoral students to draft a scientific dissertation, which provides original assistance in the chosen field of research;
-to establish close relationships in the focus of the doctoral program with other public and private research bodies, with the aim of involving doctoral students in research areas in a wider context that produces and implements social policies and services.

To have completed the university studies of the first and the second cycle in the fields of study in Pedagogy-Psychology. 2. The ranking of candidates is done by the average of the grades, the platform of the research that they present, level of English, and the other criteria as agreed by the department. 3.
