Molecular Medicine generally focuses on an interdisciplinary approach, where physical, chemical, biological, bioinformatics and medical techniques are used to describe molecular structures and mechanisms, identify fundamental molecular and genetic errors of disease, and to develop molecular interventions to correct them. This field also termed as ‘’tomorrow’s medicine’’, develops ways to diagnose and treat diseases by understanding the way genes, proteins, and other cellular molecules work rather than the previous conceptual and observational focus on patients and their organs.

With the advancements in Genomics, personalized medicine is becoming a reality and studying Molecular Medicine enables one to apply this to individual subjects. Pharmaceutical industries are interested in application of Molecular Medicine to design tailored drugs. This MS degree programme in molecular medicine is tailored to meet this demand. Furthermore, this programme has a strong focus on research and is suitable for students with a strong background in biomedicine, biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacy, biotechnology and/or veterinary sciences.
