In the Teacher Education program, art education majors experience a breadth and depth of theory and practice. They acquire a sound knowledge and idea base and also develop skills and resources for teaching. The undergraduate Art Education program is designed to prepare students to meet the challenges of teaching in the public schools. In order to teach art, one must understand creative processes and have a working knowledge of art as well as the skills and understandings of a teacher. In the program, students learn about children and their developmental patterns, teaching methodologies in art, classroom procedures, visual arts media, and current trends in Art Education.
