The Master in Philosophy program aims to train students so that, with sufficient knowledge of the main philosophical traditions and positions, and the necessary habits of reflection and analysis, they can participate in the various scientific, ethical, political and social discussions, facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue and the search for better alternatives for problem solving. Specific objectives include: identifying and applying the historical and systematic methods of philosophical research; understanding the fundamental themes and problems of philosophy and to analyze them critically and rigorously; dialogue in an interdisciplinary way with people and knowledge to allow a broad deployment of philosophical reflection that contributes to a more holistic understanding of reality; identifying, analyzing and evaluating the immersion of philosophical issues and problems in the contemporary world situation; AND expressing and teaching in an appropriate way to different audiences and through different media (written, oral, etc.) the contents learned through teaching and research.

 To be admitted into a graduate program, students must pass the Exam III (CENEVAL), which is an exam in Spanish required for admission. The exam may be taken at the IBERO or at CENEVAL centers throughout Mexico.

 International students who do not live in Mexico may take the exam after their arrival at the university on the first date the exam is offered at the university.
