The PhD in Philosophy program is the most relevant philosophical studies on current social and cultural problems, to favor the ultimate understanding of human beings and their social bonds in the construction of inclusive paradigms of social justice. Specific objectives include: generating knowledge about the current context based on the use of methods of the philosophical tradition and contemporary approaches of philosophy for the explanation and understanding of human dignity and the processes of humanization; disseminating in academic or public, national, or international spaces, the results of philosophical research that allow new readings of social reality; leading research teams through interdisciplinary dialogue, critical reasoning, and the inclusion of diverse modes of human thought to influence other fields of study close to and outside philosophy, particularly in the humanities and social sciences; AND evaluating philosophical issues and problems immersed in the contemporary world situation by questioning and answering questions about the being and doing of social justice and the most appropriate public policies for its transformation.

 To be admitted into a graduate program, students must pass the Exam III (CENEVAL), which is an exam in Spanish required for admission. The exam may be taken at the IBERO or at CENEVAL centers throughout Mexico.

 International students who do not live in Mexico may take the exam after their arrival at the university on the first date the exam is offered at the university.
