The researcher with this degree will be a solvent professional to face the critical, systematic, and thorough study of diverse problems in the field of human rights, based on the mastery of a variety of tools and methodologies -qualitative and quantitative- that postdoctoral research involves. In this sense, it will contribute institutionally and inter-institutionally to the training of high-level, qualified people with the necessary competencies so that, through specific research and from a human rights perspective, they can problematize the state of the art in the area and produce original knowledge on the subject. Specific objectives include: training high-level researchers in the knowledge and theoretical and practical mastery of human rights, linking our university institution with a network of universities and public centers of studies and recognized that are for the same work; promoting the harmonization of the state and national legal system with the international system of protection of human rights, from doctoral thesis research that promote the knowledge and analysis of human rights compatible with the lines of research and thematic leadership previously determined; promoting inter-institutional collaboration of academics and researchers to enhance dialogue in academic bodies, colloquiums, and publications in common means of dissemination in the field of human rights; AND disseminating and promoting inter, multi- and trans-disciplinary knowledge that contributes to strengthen a culture of respect for human rights for the benefit of vulnerable groups.

 To be admitted into a graduate program, students must pass the Exam III (CENEVAL), which is an exam in Spanish required for admission. The exam may be taken at the IBERO or at CENEVAL centers throughout Mexico.

 International students who do not live in Mexico may take the exam after their arrival at the university on the first date the exam is offered at the university.
