The PhD in Engineering Sciences aims to train researchers with a humanistic, sustainable, and interdisciplinary vision capable of generating and applying knowledge in science and engineering, contributing to the understanding, improvement and innovation of processes and systems related to industry, institutions and organizations. Specific objectives include: developing innovative products, processes, or systems through the application of engineering and sciences that contribute to regional and/or national scientific and technological progress; generating research and technological development projects linked to other institutions, organizations, and industry through participation in interdisciplinary teams; generating solutions that promote sustainable responsibility by applying engineering and science; AND disseminating research results in national and international forums and in research journals of recognized prestige.

 To be admitted into a graduate program, students must pass the Exam III (CENEVAL), which is an exam in Spanish required for admission. The exam may be taken at the IBERO or at CENEVAL centers throughout Mexico.

 International students who do not live in Mexico may take the exam after their arrival at the university on the first date the exam is offered at the university.
