Bachelor of Music with Teacher Licensure Option - Instrumental Concentration

The teacher licensure option is for those who wish to become public or private school music teachers. Teacher licensure concentrations share the music core and professional course sequence as offered through the college of education and professional studies. The instrumental music education concentration is designed for those who wish to teach primarily band and/or orchestra grades 4-12. Students will achieve basic proficiency in all traditional wind, string and percussion instruments. Management skills for a successful instrumental music education program are emphasized. The concentrations lead to the same certification, with broad-based preparation in all areas of music education. It has a unique professional development experiences, designed to help the prospective teacher achieve student?s professional and musical goals.
