Bachelor of Music with Teacher Licensure Option - Vocal Concentration

The teacher licensure option is for those who wish to become public or private school music teachers. Teacher licensure concentrations share the music core and professional course sequence as offered through the college of education and professional studies. The vocal concentration is designed for those who wish to teach primarily vocal music grades 4-12. Students will achieve basic proficiency in general music. Vocal and choral pedagogical skills are emphasized. Management skills for a successful vocal music education program are emphasized. Junior standing and junior and senior performance recitals are required. The concentrations lead to the same certification, with broad-based preparation in all areas of music education. It has a unique professional development experiences, designed to help the prospective teacher achieve student?s professional and musical goals.
