To enable a sustainable and clean energy supply in the future, we need to depend less on fossil fuel reserves because it is more environmentally sustainable to promote the development of automotive, stationary and consumer applications powered by fuel cells. Fuel cells and hydrogen systems are important technologies, which may make a positive impact on the global energy situation. Fuel cells are already used commercially in a wide range of applications in products. Other applications will follow in the future.  The specialisation in Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Technology covers energy system modelling, heat and mass transfer, control engineering, and experimental work. You will also learn about different hydrogen and fuel cell related components and energy system aspects.

More programs from the university

Aalborg University offers interdisciplinary studies where bachelor courses (basic study programmes) are followed by masters and Ph.D. courses (subsequent specialisation). The university offers 10 different undergraduate programmes in English across five faculties:

  • The Faculty of Humanities
  • The Technical Faculty of IT and Design
  • The Faculty of Social Sciences
  • The Faculty of Engineering and Science
  • The Faculty of Medicine

Each of the five faculties has its own schools with full time bachelor education spanning over three years and designed to prepare students for master and Ph.D. education at a high academic and international level. Since the Ph.D. programmes are focussed on training researchers, students are researching independently and being actively involved in Aalborg’s research community.

All study programmes at AAU are based on a unique model of teaching and learning: the problem based and project organized model based on real life challanges, also referred to as "The PBL Model" and "The Aalborg Model". This model has become both nationally and internationally recognized as an advanced and efficient learning model, and ot is a trademark for Aalborg University.

Aalborg University is among the world's leading universities regarding research within health technology, wireless communication, energy, computer science, innovation economics, and comparative welfare studies.

More than 20.000 students are enrolled at Aalborg University, and approximately 10% of those are international students from countries all over the world. The university employs approximately 2.000 faculty staff and approximately 1.400 administrative/technical staff.
