The study program of the Bachelor of Language and Literature is committed to a solid training in the disciplines of literary and linguistic studies, with special emphasis on the Chilean and Latin American reality. We guide the study of literary and linguistic disciplines so that they become part of local and regional discussions. For example, to analyze, study or interpret political phenomena, literary, chronic or cinematographic representations of the Latin American present, such as mass phenomena, gender and equality demands that are treated as fundamental issues of literature and culture in Latin America.
We understand language as a fundamental basis in the representation of the community that we are and what we want to be, and cultural production as one of the spaces where these representation exercises are intensely staged.
