In the last two decades there has been an unprecedented debate on the characteristics of the Chilean educational system. This debate has generated various policies based on political, sociological, economic and even ethical arguments regarding the role of public and private education, the governance and institutionality of the system, the impact of the policies established on the segregation and social diversity of the system educational, among other aspects.

The current level of development of our country and the possibility of moving towards a society with higher degrees of well-being depends to a large extent on the equitable and efficient functioning of our educational system and the degree of trust that the population places in it. For this reason, the challenges that are presented for the coming decades in the Chilean educational system are enormous, even more so considering the acceleration of social and cultural changes that have been making Chilean society more complex.

In response to these transformations, the Faculty of Education of the Alberto Hurtado University has developed a postgraduate study program focused on the training of professionals of excellence with skills associated with the analysis of critical aspects of the Chilean educational system and its translation into design, implementation and evaluation of policies and programs that contribute to greater social justice in the educational system. Its constitution is made possible thanks to the capital of research, consulting, teaching, advising and school support, which a significant group of academics and researchers has developed over decades. The Master is registered in the Department of Educational Policy and School Development.
