The program presents two fundamental axes: the analysis of contemporary history and interdisciplinary research. Based on this, the curricular mesh seeks to identify contemporary Chile as that field of analysis and research that covers the twentieth century in its entirety, in which theoretical approaches, methodological propositions and documentary definitions coincide, marked both by the dialogue between various disciplines, as well as the demands of a social memory in permanent debate and transformation. For this reason, this program incorporates a range of courses from areas such as Literature, Philosophy, Anthropology and Art.
Along with the above, the Master in Contemporary Chilean History proposes an analytical approach on the history of the Chilean twentieth century that incorporates the coordinates of the international dimension. Thus, a space is articulated where the understanding of national history is enriched with the look of a global context. For this reason, the program seeks to promote historiographic debate and research production through exchanges with academic centers from other latitudes, invited professors and research grants for its students.
It is aimed at Graduates in History, Social Sciences, History teachers, and professionals interested in research and teaching in education.
