The holistic education model of PolyU adopts a unique experiential learning approach which comprises Work-Integrated Education, Service-Learning, Overseas Exchange Opportunities, Research Education and Entrepreneurship Education.
We were the first university in Hong Kong to incorporate Service-Learning and Work-Integrated Education as mandatory components within the undergraduate curriculum, preparing students to become future-ready professionals with leadership skills, cross-cultural capabilities, a global perspective, and a heart to serve. We have also embedded the components of “Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics” and “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” into our undergraduate education, providing students with the skills and data literacy required to excel in today’s technological landscape.
We nurture the next generation of researchers and innovators through various programmes including the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Scheme (URIS) and College of Undergraduate Researchers and Innovators (CURI). We have also introduced the Special Talents Admission and Recognition Scheme (STARS) to support students with exceptional talents in sports, arts and culture, leadership and community services, or science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). PolyU furthermore has established student exchange partnership networks with 280+ universities / institutions overseas.
