General objective of Master in Exploration and Sustainable Use of Mineral Resources

The general objective of the master's degree lies in "To train highly trained professionals, capable of applying modern methodologies of mining exploration, procedures for the comprehensive use of mineral resources and environmental impact and risk study methods, contributing to the development of capital emanating from these professional practices, which allow solving scientific and technical problems of the geosciences and other related branches, contributing to the better use of natural resources and the protection of the environment, as well as efficient management in the organization and execution of Projects".

To enter the Master's program in Exploration and Sustainable Use of Mineral Resources, the applicant must have basic knowledge in different areas of geosciences, among which are mentioned: geology, mining, mineral and energy resources, geophysics, topography, extractive metallurgy , mineral preparation, environmental and risk management, mineral process chemistry, geography, geodesy, Geomatics and Geographic Information Systems related to the use of mineral resources. In addition, they must have basic academic knowledge of physics, mathematics and chemistry and an adequate command of Spanish grammar and the English language to be able to read and translate scientific articles on their research topic with relative fluency.
