The programme was created in 2008, when the Santiago Music Institute —founded in 1991 by Sylvia Soublette— joined the Alberto Hurtado University. Thus, we inherit a 30-year trajectory training recognized interpreters and vocal soloists on the national and international scene and we project that vocation into the future, with our characteristic seal of excellence. During their training, the students acquire the technical solvency, the interpretive quality and the scenic mastery of a first-rate vocal professional.
Benefits and opportunities when studying Higher Interpretation Singing Mention at UAH To enter the career you must take and pass an exam that consists of auditory tests and the interpretation of a learned vocal piece. In this way we will evaluate your vocal conditions, musical aptitudes and interpretive abilities. This talent is what we will develop throughout your training, so that you can distinguish yourself as a soloist or member of groups, by virtue of a complete training that will allow you to master various genres and musical styles. You will develop in an environment of respect and appreciation of your talent, thanks to the human quality of our teaching team. From the first year of the degree, you will access courses in singing, phonetics, chamber music and opera, along with other practical and theoretical programs that provide in-depth knowledge of professional work. From the 5th year you will have the opportunity to take more hours of practice, with the combination of theoretical and ethical contents that provide a deep knowledge of the discipline. You will also have access to specific courses oriented towards the spiritual and ethical dimension of the role of the artist in society.
