Doctorate in Molecular Medicine

Molecular medicine is a discipline that lies at the interface between clinical research and basic biological research. It uses physical, chemical, biological and medical methods to describe structures and mechanisms at a molecular level, identify molecular or genetic modifications underlying pathologies and develop possible molecular intervention strategies. 
The PhD in Molecular Medicine includes various disciplinary areas and is characterized by broad multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity. It includes various lines of research which include: 

• Molecular biology and genetics of skeletal muscle tissue: pathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutic approaches
• Genetics and molecular medicine of tumors
• Pathophysiology of human reproduction
• Behavioral neurobiology
• Physiology and pathology of the cardiac muscle
