The Master's Degree in Industrial Mathematics responds to:

  • The needs for masters level training of professionals in Industrial Mathematics highlighted by both the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in its document "Global Science Forum. Report on Mathematics in Industry", 2008.
  • The requirements of the European curriculum development project ECMIMIM (Erasmus - Curriculum Development project of the LifeLong Learning programme) approved and financed by the European Union, which involves the implementation of a master's degree on the subject referred to by each of the nine partners in the project, including the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

The scientific/technological interest of M2i rests on three pillars:

  • Expanding the analytical capacity and knowledge of students who will make up future research teams and professionals.
  • To provide concrete skills in the design, construction and management of software specific to at least one of the industrial sectors.
  • To introduce students to research and development topics related to the subjects that make up this programme.

Recommended degrees

For the qualifications prepared under RD 1393/2007, of October 29, on the Organization of University Education, the following profile is recommended for candidates to study the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Industrial Mathematics:

  • Graduates in Mathematics and Physics
  • Graduates from the area of ​​Engineering and Architecture
  • Graduates from the area of ​​Sciences and graduates in Economics and Business Administration

For qualifications prior to RD 1393/2007, of October 29, on the Regulation of Official University Education, the following profile is recommended for candidates to study the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Industrial Mathematics:

  • Technical or Superior Engineers
  • Science graduates, especially Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  • Graduates in Economics and Business Administration

The prioritization of the candidates, in each of the participating universities, will be by academic record, according to the order of preference of the recommended degrees, in the event that the number of pre-registered in the Master exceeds the number of places available.
