This Doctoral Program in Education, Sports and Health aims to be an interdisciplinary training offer that integrates two basic aspects: the training of researchers and the professional and scientific development of professionals in fields such as education, health, physical education and sport or sports business management. The most important aspects promoted by this program and, in short, the development of the doctorate in Education, Sport and Health are, on the one hand, its academic and scientific interest and, on the other, its possible demand and social interest. In relation to the first aspect, it implies a deep updating and redefinition of the lines of research that we consider necessary to respond to the business and social demands of the society of the 21st century related to the strategic economic field. In relation to its demand, we must point out that in recent years of training the link to sport has increased and the topics covered have been very varied: from healthy physical activity to prevent cardiovascular disease, which are the most common in countries developed, to the design of sports projects, through business management, implementation and evaluation of school sports programs.
