Description: 

The Master in CitiesChallenges aims to analyse the challenges of current cities and the respective responses to transform them into sustainable, smart, efficient, resilient and inclusive cities, considering the following dimensions of sustainable development objectives: the Physical dimension, the Social and Educational dimension the Environmental dimension, the Technological dimension, the Economic dimension and the Governance dimension. 

Teaching is provided in Portuguese, Galician and Spanish, and the teaching of each curricular unit is the responsibility of two Doctoral Professors, one from one of the three universities in Northern Portugal, and the other from one of the three universities in Galicia. The joint work, as a team, allows the offer of complementary and holistic visions, considering the nature, identity and idiosyncrasy of the two countries, Portugal and Spain. 

The 90 ECTS Master's is developed in 3 semesters, with 30 ECTS each. 

The first semester includes 6 Curricular Units (UC) of 5 ECTS credits, all mandatory. 

In the second semester, students will have 2 UCs of a mandatory nature (Internship in an institutional or business environment and Research Methodology and Dissertation Plan) and 4 UCs to choose from among an offer of 12 UCs. 

The third semester is dedicated to the elaboration of the dissertation/thesis.
