Institute of Marine Sciences provides six separate Master’s degree programs, i.e. M.S. in Marine Science, Marine Fisheries, Coastal and Marine Aquaculture, Marine Environmental Management, Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology, and Seafood Processing. Students having B.Sc. (Hon’s) in Marine Science or B.Sc. (Hon’s) in related disciplines can enroll into any one of those Master’s programs. Each Master’s program offers 36 credits, with a thesis and non-thesis option, and the duration is one academic year. There two common modules: (1) Blue Economy and Sustainable Development, and (2) Advanced Technologies in Marine Science that provide students with advanced knowledge on recent technologies developed for the sustainable blue growth. In addition, students have to take four core modules out of twenty four different options (i.e. Marine Ecosystem & Conservation, Marine Biotechnology, Marine Spatial Planning, Ocean Policy & Governance, Marine Fisheries Assessment & Management, Mariculture, Fisheries Postharvest Technology, Fisheries Economics, Seed Production & Hatchery Management, Aquaculture Systems, Aquaculture Nutrition, Sustainable Aquaculture, Advanced Marine Pollution, Marine Ecosystem Health Management, Marine Environmental Technology, Marine Environmental Law, Policy & Sustainability, Feed Technology, Nutrition & Feeding of Fish & Shrimp, Feed Management, Feed Formulations & Feed Mill Management, Processing Technology, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), Fisheries Microbiology, Seafood Safety & Quality Control) according to the requirement of a desired Master’s degree program.
